SCHOOL BUILDING

SFF’s motto is “Schooling for All”. Globally millions of children and youth remain illiterate, particularly in low-income regions and among girls, 87% of illiterate youth are concentrated in South Asia, West and Central Africa, and Eastern and Southern Africa (Copilot Search June 2026). In addition to financial difficulty, inaccessible to school is the common cause for illiteracy, particularly amongst communities of remote location and lack funding for school-building. SFF endeavours to building elementary schools for the affected residences, including:  2021: One school in a small village of Cambodia near Lao’s boarder, Don Sanlat  2021 – 2023, Two schools for mountaineers of two tribals living along Central region of Vietnam. Similar work was carried out in Africa - Uganda - in late 2023 for mostly orphan children [Refer to the 2023 Interim Report]  We are preparing for a similar project in Lao near the border of Cambodia in the coming year.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We endeavour to improving school attendance and academic performances for students of marginalized family background through scholarships. Weak literacy and numeracy skills can lead to disadvantage in terms of limited access to desirable employment opportunities or unemployment (OECD 2017). One in five Australians had low literacy and/or numeracy skills, with numeracy a particular challenge (OECD 2017). The 2024 NAPLAN report shows that one in three Australian students isn’t meeting literacy standards (ABC, 2026). In the United States, about 21% of adults are illiterate, and nearly 40% of students nationwide cannot read at a basic level, with low-income children disproportionately affected. Scholarships Provided by SFF include:  2021 – 2024: Teachers’ wages for schools in Cambodia, Vietnam and Africa  2024: Students of Catholic Care Australia In-School Program [Refer to full report from Catholic Care Australia  2025: Students of The Smith Family [Refer to detailed info on Scholarships from The Smith Family website and Certificate of Appreciation for Schools For Future]  2025: Students at the Fowler Street Special School, Merrylands, NSW [Refer to Fowler Street Special School Christmas Hamper Pamphlet and Certificate of Appreciation for Schools For Future]  2026: Students at the Harrington Street Public School, NSW [Refer to Harrington Street Public School Breakfast Program by P&C Pamphlet and Certificate of Appreciation for Schools For Future]  From 2026 SFF will be continued to perform fundraising activities including Annual Gala Dinner

Building Elementary Schools for Mountaineer Children in Vietnam

Schools For Future was founded with a single, powerful purpose: to build and renovate elementary schools for mountaineer children of ethnic minority groups in Vietnam's most remote regions. The founding project laid the groundwork for everything that followed, establishing partnerships with local authorities and beginning the construction that would transform communities.
